Deleting Your Compatiguru Account

You may request deletion of your Compatiguru account and personal information associated with that account.

Where account deletion is available directly within the Compatiguru application, you may initiate the process through the account or settings controls provided there.

You may also request account deletion by contacting us at policy@compatiguru.com.

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity or your authority over the account before processing a deletion request. This helps protect accounts and personal information from unauthorized deletion.

What Account Deletion Means

Deleting your account is intended to terminate your Compatiguru account and remove or delete personal information associated with that account from active Compatiguru systems, subject to the exceptions and limitations described below.

Account deletion may result in the loss of access to account information, profile information, saved preferences, compatibility information, reports, personalization, history, User Content, and other information or features associated with the account.

Once information has been deleted, it may not be recoverable.

Information Included in a Deletion Request

Depending on how you have used Compatiguru, information associated with your account may include:

• account and profile information;
• email address and authentication-related account information;
• birth date, birth time, birth location, time-zone information, and related information you provided;
• profile images and other User Content;
• responses, preferences, and information provided through Compatiguru experiences;
• compatibility information and information used to generate reports;
• saved reports or report-related information associated with your account;
• personalization and account-level preferences;
• support communications associated with your account; and
• other personal information maintained in connection with your use of the Services.

The particular information associated with an account will depend on the features and Services the user has used.

Information That May Be Retained

Deletion does not necessarily require the immediate deletion of every record in every circumstance.

Compatiguru may retain limited information where reasonably necessary and permitted or required by applicable law, including for purposes such as:

• complying with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations;
• maintaining records of transactions where required;
• detecting, preventing, or investigating fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
• protecting the rights, safety, and security of users, Compatiguru, or others;
• establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;
• enforcing applicable agreements and policies; or
• maintaining records of a deletion request or other compliance action.

Information retained for these limited purposes will not be retained merely to continue ordinary use of a deleted account.

Backups and System Copies

Personal information may remain temporarily in backups, disaster-recovery systems, logs, or other system copies after it has been removed from active systems.

Such information may be retained until it is overwritten, deleted, or otherwise removed through applicable system and retention processes, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Information retained in backup or recovery systems is not intended to be restored to ordinary active use except where reasonably necessary for legitimate recovery, security, or legal purposes.

Reports and Generated Content

If reports, compatibility analyses, or other generated materials are associated with your account, deletion of your account may remove your ability to access those materials through Compatiguru.

If you previously downloaded, exported, emailed, printed, or otherwise retained a copy of a report outside Compatiguru, deleting your Compatiguru account will not delete copies that exist on your device, in your email account, in another service, or elsewhere outside our control.

Similarly, if you shared a report or other material with another person, account deletion may not remove copies independently retained by that recipient.

Information Involving Other Users

Some Compatiguru features may involve information, interactions, reports, or content concerning more than one person.

Deleting your account does not necessarily delete information independently associated with another user’s account or information that another user lawfully provided, created, received, or retained through their own use of the Services.

Where information relates to multiple individuals, we may evaluate deletion requests in light of the rights and information of each person and applicable law.

De-Identified and Aggregated Information

Compatiguru may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it is no longer reasonably linked to you as an identifiable individual, where permitted by applicable law.

Such information may be used for legitimate purposes such as analytics, research, improving the Services, understanding patterns of use, safety, reliability, and development of Compatiguru products and experiences.

Where applicable law imposes requirements concerning de-identified information, we will handle that information consistent with those requirements.

Purchases and Payment Records

Deleting your Compatiguru account does not necessarily delete transaction records maintained by Apple, Google, Stripe, financial institutions, or other payment providers.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices and may be required to retain transaction records independently of Compatiguru.

Compatiguru may also retain limited transaction, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or compliance records where required or permitted by applicable law.

Subscriptions and Recurring Purchases

Deleting your Compatiguru account does not necessarily cancel a subscription or recurring purchase administered by an application marketplace or other third-party billing provider.

If you have an active subscription through Apple, Google, or another third-party provider, you should manage or cancel that subscription through the applicable provider using the account through which you purchased it.

You remain responsible for managing third-party subscriptions associated with your marketplace or payment-provider account.

Deleting Particular Information Without Deleting Your Account

Depending on the applicable feature and your location, you may be able to update, remove, or request deletion of particular information without deleting your entire Compatiguru account.

Available controls may be provided through the Services. You may also contact policy@compatiguru.com regarding privacy requests concerning your personal information.

Identity Verification

Before acting on certain account or data requests, we may need to verify that the request is being made by the account holder or by another person legally authorized to act on the account holder’s behalf.

The information requested for verification will depend on the nature of the request and the information reasonably available to us.

We will not intentionally require more information than reasonably necessary to verify and process the request.

Authorized Requests

Where applicable law permits an authorized agent or representative to make a privacy request on another person’s behalf, we may require reasonable evidence of that authority and may also take appropriate steps to verify the identity of the person whose information is involved.

When We May Need Additional Information

If we cannot identify the relevant account, verify the requester, understand the scope of a request, or locate the information involved, we may contact the requester for additional information reasonably necessary to process the request.

We may be unable to complete a request if we cannot reasonably verify the request or if an applicable legal exception prevents us from taking the requested action.

Timing of Deletion Requests

We process verified deletion and privacy requests in accordance with applicable law.

The time required to complete a request may depend on the nature of the request, the information involved, verification requirements, applicable legal obligations, and systems in which relevant information is maintained.

Where applicable law establishes a response period or permits an extension, we will handle the request consistent with those requirements.

Before You Delete Your Account

Before requesting deletion, consider saving any information or reports that you want to retain and managing any subscriptions administered through third-party providers.

Account deletion may be irreversible. After deletion is completed, Compatiguru may not be able to restore your account, reports, preferences, history, personalization, User Content, or other account information.

Children’s Information

Compatiguru’s registered-user Services are intended for adults age 18 and older.

If you believe that a person under 18 has created a Compatiguru account or provided personal information through the registered-user Services, contact us at policy@compatiguru.com.

Changes to This Information

We may update this account and data deletion information as Compatiguru’s Services, practices, or legal obligations evolve.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
